Audrey J Sadler and Donald James “DJ” Grubb, Jr. had decided on an idyllic destination wedding. The formal affair was to take place in April, at a lovely chateau in Amboise France, the heart of the Loire Valley. Audrey had selected a stunning two piece long-sleeved, jewel neck, floor-length silk-satin gown with a six foot train and silk charmeuse lining – the perfect dress for an early spring wedding in the French country side. Shortly after purchasing her dress, Audrey and DJ decided they’d rather wed in Hawaii….in June. A big, formal gown was not going to work. That’s when Audrey went to Shirley’s Designs & Alterations. Audrey met with Veda and talked options. How about an Audrey Hepburn-styled dress with a boat neck, v-back with three quarter sleeves and a tea length skirt…as well as a cami top (made from the train) to switch to after the ceremony? 4 fittings later, without a pattern or picture to work with, just the bride-to-be’s vision, Audrey left the shop with a beautiful wedding ensemble – classic, clean line, a timeless vision of sophistication and simplicity. Just perfect for an island wedding in June. See for yourself…. Our heartfelt congratulations to Audrey and DJ! May they have a lifetime of happiness together. |
